Charlamagne, who hosts The Breakfast Club, discussed his disappointment with the vice president in a Tuesday interview published by Politico.

The Breakfast Club host said he had “learned lesson” from supporting Harris. “When I give people my word like: ‘Yo man, I think we should be supporting Kamala […] for vice president… because she’s going to hold it down,'” he said.

“When we say those things and people don’t see her holding it down, that causes issues.” The radio host said his credibility had been called into question for his support […] in 2020.

Charlamagne also lamented Democrats’ continued focus on former President Donald Trump.

“It’s almost like Democrats are doing this purity test,” he said.

“America is not pure. The people […] are not pure. We’re flawed.”

“I’m not looking for my politicians to be pure… I’m looking for [them] to be effective,” he added.

The Breakfast Club host, who has interviewed both Harris and Biden on his program, said he didn’t believe either would join his show for another interview in 2024 […].

Charlamagne originally endorsed Biden in 2020 after the then-Democrat candidate selected then-California Senator Harris [for VP].

During an October 2020 interview with Biden, Chalamagne said he was “not necessarily voting for” Biden, adding, “I’m voting for Sen. Kamala Harris.”

“I believe she’s a political change agent, exactly the leader this country needs to lead us in the future. If she’s not, I’ll just be wrong,” Charlamagne added.

“I’m just so tired of old White male leadership in politics.”

During the interview, Biden infamously told Charlamagne, “If you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me of Trump, then you ain’t black.”

Biden later walked back the comment, saying he “should not have been so cavalier” [in] the interview, per the Washington Post.”
