Thune has also come out against President Trump’s statements about illegal immigrants destroying America, telling CNN, “My grandfather’s an immigrant, so that’s not a view I share.”

Sadly, John Thune has a long history of making anti-Trump remarks. On October 8, 2016, Thune wrote on his X account, “Donald Trump should withdraw and Mike Pence should be our nominee effective immediately.”

As I said on twitter, “I didn’t even really like Rick Scott, but since they gave us three shit options I wanted the least shitty. These bastards won’t even PRETEND to compromise or work with voters in ANY capacity, so why should WE work with or tolerate them AT ALL.”
Thing is, “I still support Trump and everything he’s going to do with the executive branch, but that doesn’t mean I or anyone else has to put up with this shit from congress. He has to be more tactful, while stuck with them, but WE don’t have to be. We, have to get them out of his way.”
